CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEEK 17 PREVIEW
CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 17 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly
Racing Series will feature a full slate of action in the West Region,
and limited schedule in the East Region due to the NeSmith Chevrolet
Dirt Late Model Series National Touring event this Friday night at
Penton Raceway in Penton, AL, and Saturday night at East Alabama Motor
Speedway in Phenix City, AL.
The NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region
competition begins this Friday night at Southern Speedway in
Hattiesburg, MS featuring the top two drivers in the West Region
points chase, defending and two-time NeSmith Chevrolet WRS West Region
Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS and defending NeSmith Chevrolet
WRS Track Champion Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS.
The West Region action will see five events on the Saturday
night schedule. Magnolia

Speedway

Columbus

MS
is expected to feature Ben McCreary of
Baldwyn
,
MS
attempt to move up the West Region point standings in his quest for
the title.
Keeton is expected at Whynot Motorsports
Park where he is the defending NeSmith Chevrolet WRS Track Champion,
and will battle with Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS, Talbert Goldman, of
Meridian, MS and Larry Murphy of Meridian, MS.
Goldman is seventh in the West Region points, while McDuffie,
and Murphy are knocking on the door of the Top 10.
Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton,
AL
will feature its Mid Season Championship Race on Saturday night.
Flomaton Speedway has five NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing
Series drivers holding on to five of the Top 10 positions in the West
Region. Josh Huss of
Flomaton, AL is third, Chris Griffin of Flomaton, AL is fourth, Tracy
Sutton of Brewton, AL is eighth, while Mark Clifton of Brewton, AL and
Micha McCall of Flomaton, AL are tied for the tenth spot.
A1 Raceway in Slidell, LA will be in
action on Saturday night, where Lee has been a regular along with the
ninth-place driver in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West
Region points, Tootie Arnold of
Meadville
,
MS
.
Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS will return to NeSmith
Chevrolet WRS competition this Saturday night with Davin Bates of
Roseville, LA looking for his second straight win.
Montpelier Speedway in Montpelier, IN
will host its first NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East Region
event this Saturday night with a Double Points event.
Top Hoosier State drivers include Steve Barnett of Franklin,
IN, Steve Godsey of Bedford, IN, Mark Barber of North Vernon, IN, Chip
Stitsworth of Deputy, IN, and Shannon Reed of Bloomington, IN.
Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga,
AL
will be in action this Saturday night featuring four NeSmith Chevrolet
Weekly Racing Series East Region Top 10 drivers.
Adam Martin of Talladega, AL is third, Jimmy Elkins Jr. of
Talladega, AL is fourth, Dillon Crim of Eastaboga, AL is eighth, and
Brian Ponder of Talladega, AL is ninth.
