ICE STORM FORCES POSTPONEMENT OF NeSMITH CHEVROLET DLMS COLUMBUS, MS RACE

                COLUMBUS , MS – An ice storm has forced postponement of the 8^th Annual Winter Classic for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series on Saturday at Columbus Speedway .  Track and series officials have stated they will announce a rescheduled date in the coming days.

               A weather system with freezing rain moved into the Columbus , MS area late Friday night, and left behind a sheet of ice that covered the track as late as 8 a.m. this morning.  Mississippi State Police were discouraging any travel north of the area Saturday morning, as bridges and overpasses were still iced over and extremely dangerous.
