STORMPAY.COM WEEKLY RACING SERIES ROUND UP FOR AUGUST 27

               CARTERSVILLE, GA – Chad Wallace of LaGrange, GA and Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS were the big stars during Week 22 of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series.  Wallace posted two wins over the weekend to stay in the hunt for second spot in the StormPay.com WRS East Region, and Lee jumped into the top ten of the West Region with two wins.

                Wallace grabbed his eighth win of the season on Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton , AL , and then followed that up with win number nine on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga , AL .  Wallace stayed in the third spot in the StormPay.com WRS East Region, but closed to within seven points of the second-place driver, Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega , AL .

                Lee’s two wins came on Friday night at Southern Speedway in Hattiesburg , MS .  By sweeping the double features, Lee moved up to the eighth spot in the StormPay.com WRS West Region points, and is one of eight drivers in a log jam for the runner-up spot in the West Region.

                Logan Yates of Delta, AL leads the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region with 770 points in 16 starts.  Yates finished second to Wallace on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track.  Elkins has 693 points based on his best 16 finishes in 25 starts.  Wallace has netted 686 points based on his best 16 finishes in 20 starts.

                Adam Martin of Talladega, AL is fourth in the StormPay.com WRS East Region with 683 points in 16 starts, and Curtis Cline of Douglasville, GA is fifth with 637 points in 16 starts.  Dustin Stewart of Eastaboga, AL is sixth with 631 points in 16 starts, and Marc Gooden of Lafayette, AL is seventh with 597 points in 16 starts.

                Parrish Duncan of Newnan, GA is eighth in the East Region standings with 582 points in 15 starts, and Corey Korreckt of Lincoln, AL is ninth with 578 points in 16 starts.  Darel Owenby of Calhoun, GA rounds out the top ten in the StormPay.com WRS East Region with 552 points in 13 starts.

                Duncan and Owenby can still earn full points, one event for Duncan and three events for Owenby, and each driver could move up in the StormPay.com WRS East Region point standings with good finishes.  The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region event at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth , GA was rained out on Friday night.

                The defending StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS leads the West Region with 776 points based on his best 16 finishes in 24 starts. Keeton picked up his WRS leading 12^th win of the season on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian , MS .  It was Keeton’s fourth straight win at Whynot.

                 Steve Godsey of Bedford, IN finished third on Saturday night at Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon , IN to move into the second spot in the StormPay.com WRS West Region standings with 669 points in 16 starts.  Godsey leads an eight-driver logjam for the second spot in the West Region standings, as several drivers made big moves over the weekend.

 Larry Murphy of Meridian, MS moved up to the third spot in the StormPay.com WRS West Region with 663 points in 16 starts, and the son of the point leader, Brandon Keeton of Toomsuba, MS climbed up to the fourth spot with a trio of third-place finishes – two at Southern Speedway, and one at Whynot – to accumulate 653 points in 16 starts.

  Herman Reynolds of Laurel, MS is fifth with 648 points based on his best 16 finishes in 23 starts.  Dallas Mozingo of Laurel, MS is sixth with 636 points based on his best 16 finishes in 22 starts.  Jamie Pickard of Columbus, MS is seventh with 629 points in 15 starts.

 With his pair of wins over the weekend, Lee vaulted up to the eighth spot with 611 points based on his best 16 finishes in 17 starts.  Terry Mosley of Gilbertown, AL had a pair of second-place finishes at Southern Speedway to move up to the ninth position with 610 points in 15 starts, and Jim Moon of Zionsville, IN rounds out the top ten in the StormPay.com WRS West Region with 589 points in 15 starts.

                Pickard, Mosley, and Moon can still earn full points in one more StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region event before netting points based on their best 16 finishes.

                In other StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region action over the weekend saw Mark Stokes of Columbus, MS pick up his fourth series win of the season on Saturday night at Columbus Speedway in Columbus , MS .  Stormy Derryberry of Monticello, AR won for the second time this season at Monticello Speedway in Monticello, AR.

Mark Barber of North Vernon, IN picked up his first series win of the season on Saturday night at Twin Cities Raceway Park , and StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region action at Thunder Valley Raceway in Salem , IN was called off by track officials on Friday night because of excessive heat.

The West Region of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series will be off this weekend due to the $5,000-to-win StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Touring event at Whynot Motorsports Park on Friday and Saturday night.  Each driver that enters the WMP StormPay.com DLMS two-day show will receive 10 West Region bonus points.

Frank Wilson of Milton, FL continues to lead the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series South Region with 736 points based on his best 16 finishes in 37 starts.  Josh Huss of Flomaton, AL is second with 707 points based on his best 16 finishes in 23 starts.  Bobby Morrison of Milton, FL is third with 664 points based on his best 16 finishes in 26 starts.

Joshua Joiner of Milton, FL is fourth in the StormPay.com WRS West Region standings with 661 points based on his best 16 finishes in 18 starts, and Donald Watson of Greenwell Springs, LA is fifth with 658 points based on his best 16 finishes in 17 starts.  Jonathan Joiner of Milton, FL is sixth with 635 points based on his best 16 finishes in 17 starts.

Richard Guidry of Port Allen, LA was the winner on Saturday night at A1 Raceway in Slidell, LA, and is seventh in the StormPay.com WRS South Region with 634 points based on his best 16 finishes in 17 starts.  Scott Sessions of Milton, FL gives the “Milton Mafia” its fifth driver in the South Region top ten by riding in the eighth spot with 620 points based on his best 16 finishes in 26 starts.

 Michael Santangelo of St. Rose, LA scored his fourth series win of the season on Saturday night at Pike County Speedway in McComb , MS , and is ninth in the South Region with 599 points based on his best 16 finishes in 18 starts.  Ryan Little of Satsuma, AL rounds out the top ten in the StormPay.com WRS South Region with 581 points in 16 starts.

 In other StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series South Region action over the weekend, two drivers picked up their first series wins of the season.  Russell Welch of Cottondale, FL was the winner on Friday night at Blackman Motor Speedway in Blackman , FL , and Brandon Register of Greenville , AL took the win on Saturday night at Butler County Motorsports Park in Greenville , AL .  The double feature events at Southern Raceway in Milton , FL were rained out on Saturday night.
