STORMPAY.COM WEEKLY RACING SERIES ROUND UP FOR AUGUST 6

               CARTERSVILLE, GA – Logan Yates of Delta, AL took over the point lead in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region on Saturday night with a fifth-place finish at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga , AL .  Yates now holds a three-point lead over Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega , AL .

                Yates has had a strong season thus far at Talladega Short Track accumulating 680 points with nine wins in 14 starts.  The success Yates has had this season shadows the success the 2006 StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region Champion Jason Wilson of Margaret , AL had last season.

                Wilson used an off brand Stinger Chassis powered by a 350 horsepower GM Performance 602 Crate Engine utilizing the 150 pound weight break.  Like Wilson did last season at TST, Yates is using an off brand TSR Chassis powered by the GM Performance 602 Crate Engine.

                Elkins remains in the StormPay.com WRS East Region Championship hunt with 677 points based on his 16 best finishes in 22 starts.  Elkins, who finished fourth at TST on Saturday night, led the StormPay.com WRS East Region points for the first 18 weeks of the 27-week season.

               Chad Wallace of LaGrange, GA took his seventh win of the season, and his second in a row on Friday night at Penton Raceway in Penton , AL .  Wallace is third in the StormPay.com WRS East Region with 659 points in 17 starts.  Adam Martin of Talladega, AL finished second in Saturday night at TST, and is fourth in the East Region points with 593 in 14 starts.

                Curtis Cline of Douglasville, GA is fifth in the StormPay.com WRS East Region with 557 points in 14 starts, and Parrish Duncan of Newnan, GA is sixth with 552 points in 14 starts.  Dustin Stewart of Eastaboga, AL is seventh in the East Region with 543 points in 14 starts after a third-place finish on Saturday night at TST.

                Corey Korreckt of Lincoln, AL is eighth with 512 points in 14 starts, Darel Ownby of Calhoun, GA is ninth with 474 points in 11 starts.  Marc Gooden of Lafayette, AL moved into the top ten of the StormPay.com WRS East Region with 461 points in 12 starts.

                In other StormPay.com East Region action over the weekend, Doug Kilgore of Dalton , GA picked up his second win of the season on Friday night at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth , GA.   Carlton Freeman of Eastaboga, AL took his first win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track.  Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA did not report their Friday night results.

                Frank Wilson of Milton, FL padded his StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series South Region point lead with his seventh win of the season on Friday night at Blackman Motor Speedway in Blackman, FL, and a third-place finish on Saturday night at Southern Raceway in Milton, FL.  The “Godfather” of the “Milton Mafia” has 728 points based on his best 16 finishes in 32 starts.

               Josh Huss of Flomaton, AL is second in the StormPay.com WRS South Region standings with 700 points based on his 16 best finishes in 18 starts.  The “Milton Mafia” holds down third through fifth in the South Region.

               Bobby Morrison of Milton, FL in third spot with 664 points based on his 16 best finishes in 23 starts.  Scott Sessions of Milton, FL is fourth with 617 points based on his 16 best finishes in 23 starts, and Joshua Joiner of Milton, FL is fifth with 612 points in 16 starts.  Richard Guidry of Port Allen, LA holds down the sixth spot with 552 points in 15 starts.

Donald Watson claimed his fifth StormPay.com WRS South Region win of the season on Saturday night at Pike County Speedway in McComb , MS .  Watson is seventh in the StormPay.com WRS South Region with 539 points in 13 starts.  Michael Santangelo of St. Rose, LA is eighth with 538 points in 15 starts.

 Dewayne Morris of River Falls, AL is ninth with 531 points based on his 16 best finishes in 22 starts, and “Milton Mafia” member Taylor Jarvis of Milton, FL rounds out the top ten in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series South Region standings with 527 points based on his 16 best finishes in 19 starts.

In other StormPay.com WRS South Region action over the weekend, Shep Lucas of McKenzie, AL scored his second series win of the season on Saturday night at Butler County Motorsports Park in Greenville, AL.

Larry Cifra of Moss Point , MS made it four in a row on Saturday night at Deep South Speedway in Loxley , AL .  Deep South Speedway officials have posted a $100 bounty on Cifra to any driver that can derail his winning streak.

Jamey Smith of Purvis, MS picked up his first South Region win of the season on Saturday night at A1 Raceway in Slidell , LA , and James Ussery of Cottondale , FL won his fourth South Region race of the season on Saturday night at Southern Raceway.  Baton Rouge Raceway in Baton Rouge, LA did not report their Friday night results.

 The defending StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS built on his West Region point lead with his seventh win of the season on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.  Keeton has 736 points based on his 16 best finishes in 17 starts.

 Herman Reynolds of Laurel, MS is second in the West Region standings with 648 points based on his 16 best finishes in 21 starts.  Dallas Mozingo of Laurel, MS is third with 608 points in 16 starts.

 Steve Godsey of Bloomington , IN traveled to Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS for a double racing weekend, and came home with a pair of top five finishes.  Godsey is fourth in the StormPay.com WRS West Region standings with 584 points in 14 starts.

Mark Tice of Hollandale, MS is fifth in the StormPay.com WRS West Region with 574 points in 15 starts after taking his fourth win of the season on Saturday night at Monticello Speedway in Monticello , AR.  Larry Murphy of Meridian, MS is sixth with 551 points in 13 starts, and Jamie Pickard of Columbus, MS is seventh with 547 points in 13 starts.

Tony Shelton of Steens, MS captured his first series win of the season on Friday night at Columbus Speedway , and is eighth in the West Region standings with 502 points in 14 starts.  Brad Barrow of Bloomington, IN also made the trip south over the weekend and left Columbus Speedway with a pair of top five finishes to ride ninth in the StormPay.com WRS West Region standings.

 Barrow has 490 points in 11 starts.  Jamey Smith rounds out the top ten in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region with 480 points in 12 starts.

In other StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region action over the weekend, Danny Joe Thomas of Foley , AL picked up his first West Region win of the season on Friday night at Southern Speedway in Hattiesburg , MS .  Mark Stokes of Columbus , MS won his third of the season on Saturday night at Columbus Speedway .
