WEEKLY RACING SERIES ROUND UP FOR APRIL 9
CARTERSVILLE, GA – Frank Wilson of Milton, FL, Lucky Keeton
of Toomsuba, MS, and Logan Yates of Delta, AL are the StormPay.com
Weekly Racing Series point leaders in their respective Regions after
the second week of competition.
Wilson
picked up two wins over the weekend in his Wilson Lumber Rocket to
lead the South Region.
Wilson
bested a 22-car field on Friday night at Blackman Motor
Speedway
in
Blackman
,
FL
,
and then followed that up with a win on Saturday night at
Deep
South
Speedway
in
Loxley
,
AL
.
On the opening week of the StormPay.com WRS, Wilson finished
second in Blackman, FL.
Keeton used a pair of second-place
finishes in his
Charlotte
’s
Toy GRT to assume the point lead in the West Region to begin his
defense of the West Region Championship.
Keeton finished second on Friday night at
Southern Speedway
in
Hattiesburg
,
MS
,
and took the second spot again on Saturday night at
Whynot
Motorsports
Park
in
Meridian
,
MS
.
Yates finished third on Friday night at
Penton Raceway in
Penton
,
AL
driving The Bargain Barn TSR to stay on top of the point lead in the
StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region.
Yates was the winner at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL
on March 31.
Two other drivers picked up two wins over
the weekend in StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series action, but each
driver won in two different Regions.
Jay Blair of Angie, LA was the winner on
Friday night at
Southern
Speedway
in StormPay.com WRS West Region action, and also took the win at
Pike
County
Speedway
in
McComb
,
MS
on Saturday night in the South Region driving the Parish Disposal
Mastersbilt. Scott Knowles
of Lanett,
AL
won on Friday night at Penton Raceway in the East Region, and on
Saturday night at
Butler
County
Motorsports
Park
in
Greenville
,
AL
in the South Region.
Other StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series
over the weekend were Doug Todd of Brandon, MS, who was the winner on
Friday night at Simpson County Motorsports Park in Mendenhall, MS,
Jerry Bevis of Zachary, LA picked up his second straight win at Baton
Rouge Raceway in Baton Rouge, LA on Friday night, and Talbert Goldman
of Meridian, MS was the winner on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports
Park.
With his two wins and a second-place
finish,
Wilson
has 148 points. Following
Wilson in the StormPay.com WRS South Region point standings are
Jonathan Joiner of Milton, FL with 113, Dewayne Morris of River Falls,
AL with 98, Josh Huss of Flomaton, AL with 96, Bevis with 80, Jim Till
of Greenville, AL and Davin Bates of Independence, LA are tied for the
sixth spot with 79, Bobby Morrison of Castleberry, AL and Kevin Watts
of Denham Springs, LA are tied for the eighth spot with 76, and Scott
Sessions of Milton, FL rounds out the top ten with 74 points.
Keeton has accumulated 104 points to hold
a 20-point lead over Herman Reynolds of

in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region point standings.
Jamey Smith of Purvis, MS is third with 82 points followed by
Danny Murray of Meridian, MS with 66, Blair with 58, Kody Barber of
Bogalusa, LA with 54, Goldman is tied for the seventh spot with Owen
Stockstill of Columbia, MS with 50, Chris Jimerson of Gilbertown, AL
has 46, and Larry Murphy of Meridian, MS rounds out the top ten in the
West Region with 44 points.
Yates has 83 points to hold a three-point
lead over Cory Korreckt of

Adam Martin of Talladega, AL is third with 79 points followed
by Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega, AL with 76, Mike Head of Ellenwood,
GA with 48, Bryant Milam of Trussville, AL is tied with Jeff Smith of
Villanow, GA for the sixth spot with 42 points, and three-way tie for
the eighth spot among Knowles, Vince Fanello of Lavonia, GA, and Darel
Owenby of Chatsworth, GA with 40 points rounds out the top ten in the
StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region.
Cold weather forced postponement of five
StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series events over the weekend.
Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA and North Georgia Speedway in
Chatsworth, GA in the East Region, as well as Brownstown Speedway in
Brownstown, IN, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS and Swinging
Bridge Raceway in Jackson, MS in the West Region all shut down due to
the cold weather over the weekend.
