STORMPAY.COM WEEKLY RACING SERIES ROUND-UP FOR WEEK 1

               CARTERSVILLE , GA – The 2007 StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series opened with five tracks in two regions opening up the action.  The big winners in week one were Logan Yates of Delta, AL, Josh Huss of Flomaton, AL, Jeff Smith of Villanow, GA, Vince Fanello of Lavonia, GA and Jerry Bevis of Zachary, LA.

               Yates topped a 22-car field at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga , AL on Saturday night driving The Bargain Barn TSR.  Following Yates under the checkered flag were Mike Head of Ellenwood, GA, Cory Korreckt of  Lincoln, AL, Adam Martin of Talladega, AL, and Bryant Milam.

With defending StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region Champion Jason Wilson moving on to the Super Late Model Division for 2007, Yates put himself in a position to become the “heir-apparent” in the region.  Yates, who finished fourth in the StormPay.com WRS East Region last season, now leads the point standings.

Smith was the winner on Saturday night at North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth , GA driving the Allsouth Racing Products Warrior.  By topping the 11-car field, Smith settled into a tie for the fifth spot in the StormPay.com WRS East Region point standings with Milam.

Rounding out the top five at North Georgia Speedway were Darel Owenby, Jeremy Pruitt, Doug Kilgore, and Jimmy Kay.

Fanello drove his Bulk Fabricated Products Mastersbilt to victory on Saturday night at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia , GA.   Finishing second through fifth respectively at Lavonia Speedway were Michael White, Brandon Haley, Otis Brooks, and Chad Pearson.

Fanello is tied for the seventh spot in the StormPay.com WRS East Region point standings with Elkins and Owenby.  White rounds out the top ten in the WRS East Region points chase.

Huss drove his Charco, Inc. TNT to victory on Friday night during opening night at Blackman Motor Speedway in Blackman, FL that saw 20 cars sign up for action in the StormPay.com WRS South Region.  Finishing second through fifth respectively behind Huss were Frank Wilson, Bobby Morrison, Russell Welch, and Jack Daughtry.

Bevis took the win on Friday night in StormPay.com WRS South Region action at Baton Rouge Raceway in Baton Rouge, LA over Davin Bates of Independence, LA, Richard Guidry of Port Allen, LA, Kevin Watts of Denham Springs, LA, and Mickey Trosclair Jr. of St. Rose, LA.

The StormPay.com WRS South Region point standings shows Huss leading Wilson, Morrison, Welch, Daughtry, Bevis, Larry Lambeth, Bates, Scott Sessions, and Guidry.

Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS and Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL were both rained out on Saturday night in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series South Region.  All tracks in the StormPay.com WRS West Region were off due to the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Touring event on Friday night at Southern Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS.
