STOKES TAKES LEAD AFTER LATE RESULTS LEAD TO NeSMITH CHEVROLET WEEKLY RACING SERIES WEST REGION POINTS ADJUSTMENT

               CARTERSVILLE, GA – There has been a point adjustment in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings, and Johnny Stokes of Columbus, MS has taken over the point lead from three-time and defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Wet Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS.

               The adjustment was made after officials at Central Mississippi Speedway in Winona , MS , who missed the Monday reporting deadline, reported their July 2 results late Tuesday.  Stokes finished second in the race driving the TJC Mortgage/Maximum Signs Mastersbilt and now has 804 points with seven wins and 13 top five finishes in 14 starts.

               Keeton is second with 778 points with four wins, 11 top five finishes, and 13 top ten finishes in 16 starts driving the Boland Performance Trak-Star.  Keeton has reached the 16 race mark and will now begin netting points by trying to replace his lowest event point night with a higher point night total.

               Tony Lawson of Laurel, MS is third with 764 points in 15 starts, and still has one more race to earn full points.  Lawson has three top fives and 12 top tens driving the Lawson Construction Rocket.  Shay Knight of Ethelsville, MS is fourth with 646 points based on two wins, nine top fives, and 11 top tens in 12 starts driving the Dunn’s Autos Mastersbilt.

               Chad McCool of Millport, AL is fifth with 569 points after one top five, and six top tens in 12 starts driving the M&M Logging Mastersbilt.  Jason Michau of Kilmichael, MS is sixth with 567 points based on two top fives and eight top tens in 12 starts driving the Michau Logging Warrior.

               Cliff Williams of Star, MS took his third NeSmith Smith Chevrolet WRS West Region win of the season on Friday night at Central Mississippi Speedway driving the Ware Construction Trak-Star.  Williams is seventh in the West Region standings with 559 points after three wins and eight top fives in ten starts.

               The win for Williams also gave the defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge Champion and current point leader Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL their 33rd Weekly Racing Series win of the 2010 season.

               Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS is eighth in the updated West Region standings with 553 points after three wins, seven top fives, and eight top tens in 11 starts driving the Medicaid Planning Specialists Trak-Star.  Justin McRee of Tuscaloosa, AL is ninth with 531 points based on five wins, six top fives, and seven top tens in eight starts driving the Century Dedicated, Inc. Trak-Star.

               Randy Boyd of Marion, MS rounds out the top ten in the updated NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series West Region standings with 466 points after driving the Coca-Cola of Meridian Trak-Star to seven top fives and nine top tens in nine starts.
