SDCS “WAR BETWEEN THE STATES” THIS WEEKEND AT PENTON RACEWAY
CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series will present
“The War Between The States” with two races this weekend featuring
drivers from seven states battling it out in a 40-lap $2,000-to-win event
at Penton Raceway in Penton, AL and a 40-lap $2,500-to-win event on
Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.
The “War Between The States” is not a battle over political
issues, but it does involve green pieces of paper with pictures of
Presidents and Patriots on them. The
two races this weekend involve the sixth and seventh battles of the war.
What is at stake in this war is the
$10,000 that goes to the driver with the highest point total based on
their top ten finishes at the end of the season.
There are still 11 races left on the 2010 NeSmith Super Dirt Car
Series schedule, so drivers still have an opportunity to cash in on the
top ten positions in the point standings that will be paid out of the
$22,000 point fund.
The NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series is the newest racing division
offered by NeSmith Racing for super dirt late models.
NeSmith Racing has operated the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model
Series for dirt late models powered by GM Performance Crate Engines since
2005. NeSmith Racing officials developed the
NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series this season to give drivers an opportunity
to compete in super late model competition at an affordable price, and
give track promoters an opportunity to give their fans super late model
racing and keep an economic balance. The NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series is open
to just about every engine that is under the hood of a dirt late model
race car today. The NeSmith
Super Dirt Car Series creates a competitive field by using different
weight and spoiler heights for different engines.
The tire rule is simple and economical to competitors in that any
brand and any compound punching 40 or harder is legal. Cars powered by an Open Motor must weigh
2,300 pounds and have an eight-inch rear spoiler.
Cars powered by an Open Motor with a steel block must weigh 2,250
pounds and have an eight-inch spoiler.
Cars powered by the SAS-legal and SUPR-legal Spec Motors must weigh
2,250 pounds and can have a 12-inch spoiler.
Cars powered by an all steel motor can weigh 2,200 pounds and have
an eight-inch spoiler. The economical GM Performance Spec
Engines are also legal and competitive in the NeSmith Super Dirt Car
Series. The all-aluminum The GM Performance aluminum-head 604
Crate Engine that costs $5,295 and the GM Performance steel-head 602 Crate
Engine that costs $3,295 are also legal for NeSmith SDCS competition in a
race car that weighs 2,200 pounds with a 12-inch spoiler. The GM Performance CT 525, 604, and 602
Engines are in stock and ready for free next day delivery anywhere in the
Southeast at NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA by calling Tim Bland at
