RICK RICKMAN WINS NeSMITH SDCS WHYNOT RACE TO MOVE TO WITHIN 18 POINTS OF LEADER BREAZEALE

               MERIDIAN, MS – Rick Rickman of Columbus, MS picked up the win on Saturday night in the 40-lap NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series main event at Whynot Motorsports Park driving the Advanced Logistics Mastersbilt.  Rickman’s win in the event, co-sanctioned by the Promoters Racing Organization (PRO), moved “The Ravishing One” up to the second spot in the point standings.

               Rickman now trails the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series point leader David Breazeale of Kosciusko, MS by 18 points in the championship battle that pays the top point getter $10,000 at the end of the season based on their best ten point races.  Breazeale finished fourth on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park , his fourth straight top four finish driving the L&D Trucking Mastersbilt.

               Breazeale has 380 points at the top of the list after one win, one second-place finish, and two fourth-place efforts in four starts.  Rickman has 362 points with one win, one third-place showing, and one fourth-place effort in four starts.

Although he finished at the tail of the 24-car field on Saturday night at WMP, Dean Carpenter of Coldwater, MS is third in the NeSmith SDCS standings with 294 points with one top ten finish in four starts driving the Carpenter Construction SLM .  Klint Byars of Carrollton, MS finished fifth on Saturday night, and is fourth in the NeSmith SDCS standings with 290 points after one top five in four starts driving the Southern Belle GRT .

Anthony Burroughs of Sheffield, AL did not compete on Saturday night, and dropped to the fifth spot with 280 points after three top five finishes in three starts driving the ALT Transport Mastersbilt.  Brian Rickman of Columbus, MS finished ninth at WMP, and moved up to the sixth spot with 268 points after two top tens in four starts aboard the Advanced Logistics Mastersbilt.

Kyle Beard of Truman, AR is seventh in the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series standings with 248 points driving the Gary Beard Trucking GRT .  Mark Dodson of Caledonia, MS driving the Carl Hogan Chevrolet Trak-Star and Bradley Price of Hamilton, AL driving the 1^st Franklin Financial Trak-Star are tied for eighth with 228 points.

Neil Baggett of Shannon, MS rounds out the top ten and final points fund paying position in the NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series standings after four races with 214 points driving the Caldwell Racing GRT .

The next event on the 2010 NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series schedule will be a $2,000-to-win 40-lap race this Friday night at Central Mississippi Speedway in Winona , MS that will be co-sanctioned with the PRO Dirt Car Series.  The NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series will travel to Alabama for Rounds 6 and 7.

Penton Raceway in Penton, AL will host a 40-lap $2,000-to-win race on June 11, and then the series will travel to Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga , AL on June 12 for a $2,500-to-win 40-lap main event. 

The NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series is open to super late models using a variety of engines including open engines, spec engines, and GM Performance engines sealed at the factory that include the CT 525 Spec Engine, as well as the 604 and 602 Crate Engines.  A competitive field is produced among the different engines using different weights and spoiler heights.

If a driver wins the championship using a GM Performance CT525 Spec Engine purchased from NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton , GA , the dealership will pay the champion a $5,000 bonus to make for a title worth $15,000.

Drivers still have an opportunity to purchase an annual series membership to be eligible for the point fund based on their best ten finishes that pays $10,000-to-win and pays back ten spots.  The NeSmith Super Dirt Car Series will sanction super late model races in Mississippi , Alabama , Georgia and Tennessee in 2010.
