CHEVROLET DIRT LATE MODEL SERIES CHASSIS MANUFACTURERS CHALLENGE HEATING
UP
CARTERSVILLE, GA – The 2010 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model
Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge is heating up with close point
battles in both the National Tour and in the Weekly Racing Series.
Four different Chassis Manufacturers will award a chassis to the
top finishing point driver using their product on both the National Tour
and in the WRS.
Participating manufacturers in 2010 are defending and two-time
NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National Chassis Manufacturers Champion

built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN, the defending NeSmith
Chevrolet WRS Chassis Manufacturers Champion Trak-Star Race Cars built by
Boland Performance of Cuba, AL, three-time NeSmith Chevrolet WRS Chassis

On the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour,
points are awarded on a 10, 9, 8, 7 point basis on finishing positions in
the main event with 1 bonus point for a win, and 1 bonus point for a fast
time. In the NeSmith Chevrolet
Weekly Racing Series, one point is awarded for each win.
Trak-Star Race Cars leads both the
NeSmith Chevrolet National and Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers
point standings after eight NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National Touring events
with 77 points and six weeks of Weekly Racing Series competition with 16
points.
Mike
Boland
of
Cuba, AL and Chris Ragan of Ramer, TN have driven Trak-Star Race Cars to
victories on the NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS National Tour, and Ragan and
Justin
McRee
of
Cuba, AL have scored bonus points for a pair of Fast Time Awards.
Trak-Star Race Cars have 16 wins so far in the Nesmith Chevrolet
Weekly Racing Series.
Trak-Star Race Car pilots that have
posted Weekly Racing Series wins are McRee with two wins, Cliff Williams
of Star, MS with two wins, Owen Stockstill of Purvis, MS with two wins,
Wesley Greene of Winona, MS with two wins, and Billy Franklin of Calera,
AL with two wins.
The defending and three-time WRS West
Region Champion Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS has one win, the 2008 WRS
West Region Champion Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS has one win, Ragan has
one win, Kevin Henderson of Cottondale, AL has one win, Shep Lucas of
McKenzie, AL has one win, and Taylor Jarvis of Milton, FL has one win.
The top point driver on the National Tour
for Trak-Star is McRee who is in the third spot.
Other Trak-Star drivers in the top ten of the National points are
Chris McElhenney of Lake, MS in the sixth spot, and Michael Blount of
Sumrall, MS who is ninth and fourth in the VP Racing Fuels Rookie of the
Year point standings. Trak-Star
drivers hold down the top three spots in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly
Racing Series West Region point standings with Keeton, Williams and McRee.
